Host Your Own Fundraiser

Many parents and families find that raising funds among their support system is a powerful way to honour their child and share the support they have received with other families in need.

If you would like to plan or host your own fundraising event, please contact Michelle at fundraising@anamcara.ie.

We will be there to support you every step of the way!

Throughout the year, Anam Cara run some very special campaigns to help fund our vital services.

For example, these can include:

  • Over 100 Lady Captains of Dundalk have sustained a charity golf event, supporting Anam Cara through the years

Borne of the ongoing dedication and commitment of over 100 Lady Captains of the Dundalk Golf Club, the Lady Captains charity team event takes place each year to fundraise for Anam Cara.

The regularity of this local event is a great support towards continuing the essential services provided by Anam Cara to bereaved parents.

  • A Night for Nathan, organised by the family and friends of Nathan Lawlor

While Nathan died in November 2019, his community gathered to celebrate what would have been his 21st birthday.

The day started with a fun walk on the greenway followed by a soccer match between emergency services vs teachers and students from Colaiste Na Trocaíre Rathkeale for the Nathan Lawlor memorial cup, finishing off with a night of celebration at Davy Mann’s hotel.

The event was really well supported by all in the community raising over €12k for Anam Cara.

We would like to send a huge “thank you” to Nathan’s family and friends and all who supported them with this event

  • The McGeough family organise an annual Truck and Tractor Run to honour the memory of Conor

Conor McGeough loved a Truck and Tractor Run, and the family would like to thank everyone who attended and made it such a successful day. Spanning the truck and tractor run itself, a quiz night, and rounding out with a DJ, the McGeough family are able to gather and celebrate the life of Conor, while supporting families in need across the island.

  • St. Benildus College in Kilmacud, Dublin host an annual Run for Life initiative

Many local, national and international charitable causes benefit from the campaign, with Anam Cara as a grateful annual recipient.

The Run for Life is unique in that it not only provides Anam Cara with vital fundraising year after year, but fundraising activities help enrich the school experience for students.

Students contribute through securing corporate sponsorship, collecting sponsorship using the Run for Life sponsorship card, supporting the Run for Life sponsored sports tournaments, and planning other seasonal Run for Life events such as carol singing.

Engaging your school in fundraising for Anam Cara teaches valuable skills in and beyond the classroom, building up the next generation to be compassionately and personally involved in the well-being of their communities.

  • So many more: including Foróige in West Cork which raised €2,000 at a coffee morning in March
